OpenGL: Solaris over Linux (JOGL)

Upgraded NVIDIA drivers today. Fedora Core 3 (x86_64) saw healthy increase of framerate in Procedural Texture Physics demo. It stands now at between 51 and 54 FPS. However, (boy, am I glad the driver is past Beta!) Solaris 10 has it running at over 58, even though driver revision is couple of months behind as compared to Linux. What does this mean? How can Solaris have better OpenGL performance? Amazing... Go, JOGL, go!
