Compression in Tomcat works well

...but my hopes to slow down my server by forcing it to compress the content were shattered again. My old rusty Athlon 1600+ based notebook is just tooo weak to generate enough load. So, from now on I have to tweak the load. BTW, compression impact: on a 50k html file, bandwidth savings are approximately 4-fold, and so are extra expenses in terms of CPU utilization. To enable compression JMeter needs to supply the usual header "Accept: gzip, deflate" in HTTP Header Manager.
